Birthday Post!

I cannot believe I am now 17-  I'm so excited because I NOW CAN LEARN TO DRIVE!! To celebrate being 17, here is a countdown of random statements corresponding to the years I have lived so far...

17- Years I have lived 

16- years before I had my first Chinese take away (I know- how did I survive so long???)

15- seconds it takes to walk to my best friend's house 

14- times table which I always wanted to but never did learn

13- years ago since I moved to the house I currently live in

12- minutes I have spent thinking of and writing this post so far

11- on a scale of 1-10 of how excited I am to learn to drive... years of the Peterborough bus service and the fact that we only have 1 driver in the family is enough to motivate anyone to drive!

10- seasons of F.R.I.E.N.D.S I could quote you on (basically every episode)

9- different countries I have visited

8- times I have been to the same place (India of course- perks of being brown)

7- photo frames I currently have on my windowsill 

6- standards/grades I have taken in ballet

5- times we moved house before I was 3 years old

4- months until exams noooooo (let's just ignore this one)

3- music concerts I have been to

2- pounds I just spent on dried fruit (Dried cranberries- thank you Holland and Barratts)

1- year until I am an adult! What a crazy thought

So there are some fairly random and mostly uninteresting facts about me, which I thought I'd put up in case any of you had a burning desire to know how many photo frames I have on my windowsill.
Honestly, it was just because I thought the countdown idea was cool. Have a lovely weekend ☺

The one with Friends Fest

Remember in secondary school when teachers made you say a 'fun fact' about yourself as an ice-breaker? Well, mine was always that I could quote any F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode. So when I managed to get Friends Fest tickets this year you can imagine how hyped I was!  It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say I've been waiting for this day for years. We went to the Friends Fest in Kenington Park, London but there are locations all over the UK. The doors opened at 12 and we had a set tour at  pretty much as soon as we arrived. The set tour was probably my favourite part of the whole thing! It was 30 minutes long, with 10 minutes in each of Joey and Chandler's, Ross' and Rachel and Monica's apartments which felt surreal. I was amazed at how much detail they had put into the sets - they even filled up Joey's fridge with take away boxes. A Guide To Kolkata Street Food

Indian street food- delicious, quick and incredibly cheap. Need any more convincing? One of the things I most look forward to when we visit Kolkata (after seeing family of course) is the street food. There's nothing like it. Different parts of India have specialties, and here is your guide to street food in Kolkata, in the East of India. You've probably heard about food poisoning from street food (and true, I did get food poisoning this time), but in general if you follow take these precautions you should be safe. Don't ever drink water unless you've seen it's been filtered or is sealed bottled water. If you've seen Slumdog Millionaire you'll see that sometimes they put tap water into bottles and pass it off as mineral water! This applies to food as well- if there is ANY water in your street food, do not eat it If the food is on a plate that has just been washed, make sure to wipe any excess water off it so it doesn't contaminate the food Only...

Travels to Vienna

So my travelling for this summer consisted of a week trip to Vienna. Whilst there, we couldn't not take advantage of the short journeys to Budapest and Bratislava, so we managed to cover 3 places (although Budapest was slightly rushed in a day). Each one was different in their own wonderful way, so I'll do separate posts for each. SO, I shall start with Vienna!  WARNING - excessive panorama shots    The first thing we did when stepping out of the airport at Vienna was to buy our underground tickets. At the machines, the ticket options were for a person, or a person with a dog. A city with an appreciation for dogs? I was going to like it here. With my last two holidays being India and Canada, I forgot that there are people that don't speak my language abroad.
